ELMHURST – The Brian E. Wagner Scholarship Fund [BEWSF] will hold its 10th annual Bags for Wags bean bag tournament from 5 to 10 p.m. Feb. 1 at Visitation’s Valentino Center, 851 South York Road. Elmhurst.
Participants age 16 and over are welcome to play in the bean bags competition. Top teams will receive cash prizes. Raffle prizes and a silent auction will be held. Items will include gift cards from popular restaurants/retail stores, merchandise/memorabilia from Chicago sports teams and admission to hot spots all around town.

All proceeds will benefit the BEWSF, which was created in memory of Brian Edwin Wagner died at 16 in 1993. He was the fatal passenger in an auto accident.
Through the organization’s effort, scholarship funds are being raised to recognize local high school students. Finalists are leaders in the community who have committed themselves to volunteer programs that make a positive impact in their lives and the lives of others.
Students who have received the scholarship are honored for their ambition, determination and resilience. Each recipient accepts the torch that was lit in Brian’s name and inspires others to pursue long term endeavors in his memory.
The BEWSF has bestowed nearly $100,000 toward college tuition costs and awaits the opportunity to reviewing this year’s applications. The deadline to submit is Feb. 29.
